Description:
High in the hills of picturesque East Griqualand is Hermon Farm, home to the Wiley Trout Club.
This scenic 48 hectare dam is mature, with a well established ecosystem and varies from 1 to 5.5m deep. Weed beds, drop offs and channels offer superb opportunity for big fish.
We do encourage the release of smaller fish back into the dam. As the hen fish swim up the stream at the head of the dam to spawn in winter, we close the dam during June, July and August.
This activity, together with our annual stocking of 1000 15cm fish, ensures a plentiful supply of both spawned and stocked Rainbow trout.
The accommodation is a rustic, one roomed chalet on the water`s edge, providing self catering for 4 guests - 2 beds and 2 bunks. Provided for your convenience is bed lined, cutlery, crockery, small 2 ring gas stove, pots, gas fridge and an outside hot/cold shower, basin and flush toilet.
We also provide a gas lamp, candles and wood for a braai. Bring you own towels and gas braai. Hiking, Birding, Cycling available. Horse riding available in adjacent forest area.
