Description: Bushwise Safaris offers the ultimate safari experience in the Kruger National Park. From the comforts of our bush lodge on the banks of the Crocodile River, the southern boundary of Kruger, we explore South Africa’s greatest wilderness region.
Professional guides will ensure that you leave with the fondest memories of Wild Africa, and certainly much more bush wise!
Our lodge overlooks famous wildlife wilderness , the Kruger National Park, where each of the BIG 5 has been viewed from the lodge itself.
On most nights, guests are able to hear the grunting and squabbling of hippo in the river together with the roaring of lion and the eerie calling of hyena.
*The lodge is double storey
*Located under cool thatch
*Only five elegantly furnished guest bedrooms
*All with bathrooms en-suite, 1 with bath
*Each bedroom has mosquito screening, ceiling fans and air-
conditioning
*The two upper storey bedrooms each have their own balcony
with views over the Crocodile River into Kruger Park.
We remain small and personal so our guests can be comfortably accommodated and cared for.
Breakfasts are usually served early to maximise optimum game-viewing in the mornings.
Dinners are normally served under the stars in our "Boma" outside.
A Typical Day at Bushwise can include:
Open vehicle safaris into the Kruger National Park with fully qualified and trained bush guides.
Sunset drives in Kruger.
Walks with armed Kruger rangers within the National Park.
Dinners within a "Boma" outside, under the stars.
Optional extras such as birdwatching walks, Tiger fishing, Quad Biking, Micro Light flying, Horse Riding, Elephant-back Safaris, visits to a Swazi Cultural village or day trips into Mozambique, Swaziland and the Panorama Route.
Relaxing with sundowners on our private deck which overlooks the Kruger and the Crocodile River.
At Bushwise Safaris we believe there is so much more to explore. Viewing the amazing variety of antelopes, smaller mammals, eagles, other birds, reptiles, insects, the flora, the geology etc. are all part of this wonderful wilderness, where we try and understand the interrelationships between these species and their environment.
Look out for the telltale signs that indicate 'what's going on' tracks, droppings, territorial markings, diggings, paths, middens, etc. and listen out for calls and sounds that are indicative of their activity.
The Kruger National Park is one of the most unspoilt natural eco-systems left in Southern Africa. It is always exciting to view the
Big Five... elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo (which incidentally got this title as the five most dangerous species to hunt). But, don't overlook the other Big Five... giraffe, hippo, cheetah, wild dog and hyaena, which make up our Big Ten!
This wildlife area is home to some 33 species of amphibian,
115 species of reptile and 140 species of mammal,
including all the big game species that were nearly
wiped out by the hunters of the nineteenth century.
Children welcome.
