You are here: Mozambique -> Praia de Zavora Accommodation Dolphin Lodge - Zavora Description: Dolphin Lodge Zavora is situated on an 11 Hectare site on the beach at Praia dè Zavora in the Inhambane provence of Mozambique. The resort sits high on top of two dunes, offering spectacular views to all sites.
The resort can be accessed by a normal 2 wheel drive motor car. The road to the North of Maputo is being widened and resurfaced and is tarred all the way from Maputo to Inharrime. The sand road to Dolphin Lodge Zavora starts 12km North of Inharrime and is 15 km long.

Dolphin Lodge Activities:
Other than simply sitting back, relaxing and basking in the African sun, enjoying the ocean air, there are many things to do at Dolphin Lodge Zavora.
The following activities are currently possible. As the Phases of the resort will provide more and more of these activities itself. At the moment, there is the ability to bring your own equipment for each of the sports or hobbies outlined below, and we can arrange for fishing and quad biking tours for people wishing to hire.
Game fishing: Mozambique is well known for its abundant marine life and is recognized as one of the best fishing areas in the world. Fishing charters will be available at the resort lodge. Fish species found in the area include Cuta, Greater Barracuda, Kingfish, Queen Fish, Dorado, Sailfish and Marlin. Zavora has excellent surf launching facilities.
Fly Fishing: Ocean fly fishing from kyaks, jet ski's, boats, or the reef make for a very busy and exciting day indeed. Expect to catch Kingfish and Bonnita on the fly.
Jet Skiing: The protected bay behind the reef makes for an excellent place to learn to ride a jetski in the surf. Venture out from behind the reef and enjoy amongst the most exciting surf rides of your life!
Sailing: Hobies and smaller yachts are well at home in the Zavora surf and behind the reef. Take the hobie into the surf or the yacht out to see for a day of fun and excitement.
Whale watching: Zavora is host to large numbers of whales which frequent the bay during the months of June to October every year. Whales often swim close to shore and are easily viewed from the Lodge.
Scuba Diving: There has been no diving activity in Zavora area for approximately 15 years owing to the remote location and a lack of amenities. The Lodge will offer diving charters with a specialized diving operation in place. Zavora has several reefs (mostly unexplored) that stretch for about 40km offshore. The Inhambane area which includes bays such as Guinjata and Jangamo Bay, Barra Reef and Tofo beach are popular diving destinations for both the South African and Overseas diving enthusiast. Often seen are Manta and Devil rays, Whale Sharks, various pelagic fish and large shoals of reef and game fish.
Surf and Beach: The beach at Dolphin Lodge and Zavora beach are to be enjoyed for sunbathing as well as surf activities including swimming, kyaking and body boarding.
4 x 4 and Quad Bike Activities: The Lodge and surrounds lends itself to this type of activity. Sound environmental friendly practices are encouraged whilst indulging in these activities. Speed limits and age limits will apply and be strictly policed on the resort premesis.
