The Mountain Zebra National Park has excellent game viewing, while hiking or sight seeing the Valley of Desolation. Middleburg was garrison to the British troops during the Boer War & historical sites like the "Stool Monument" are within walking distance of the lodge. Visits to a working Karoo Sheep farm can also be arranged. The lodge is also affiliated to the Tennis & Bowls facilities within walking distance of the lodge
