Your hosts would like to warmly welcome you to Lupus Den Country House situated midway between Addo and Kirkwood in the fertile, malaria-free, Sundays River Valley.

The working citrus and cattle farm is approximately 45 minutes from Port Elizabeth and 25 minutes from the Addo Elephant National Park.

Priscilla and Noel, offer elegant accommodation in their gracious homestead, surrounded by lush orange groves. After a day's game viewing, you are invited to relax in their tranquil garden or have a refreshing dip in the pool.

You may prefer to take a stroll through the citrus orchards or sip sundowners on the vine-covered patio before sitting down to enjoy dinner by candlelight.

We have comfortable accommodation in 3, tastefully furnished, en suite air-conditioned rooms with ceiling fans, facilities for tea/coffee and hair dryers.

Room 1:
Double room with double bed. En suite bathroom with bath and shower. Garden entrance and private patio.

Room 2:
Double room with double bed and single bed. En suite bathroom with shower only.

Room 3:
Double room with twin beds and juvenile bed/couch. En suite bathroom with bath and shower.

We serve light lunches and a 3-course candlelit dinner in the evening.

Guests may relax in a private lounge where they can enjoy the cosy warmth of a log fire on a winter's night. Swim, or simply cool off after a hot day, in the pool.

Spend time bird-watching in our tree-filled garden searching for the Blackheaded Oriole, (depicted in our logo) whose melodious call can be heard more often than it can be seen flitting from one tall tree to another.

Sip sundowners on our vine-covered patio or in our private guest lounge.

Enjoy hearty farmhouse breakfasts, light lunches and candlelit, 3-course, dinners on the patio, weather permitting. Enjoy an African sunset at a bush barbecue.

At leisure, select mementoes or greeting cards from the South African range of handmade Bizzi B stationery.

Nearby activities include: A visit to the Addo Elephant National Park which is a 30 minute drive away through natural bushveld and established citrus orchards. Lions haveing been recently been re-introduced to the park.

We can also arrange for you to do a tour to Schotia Safaris Private Game Reserve, a 45 minute drive away. An option is to do an enjoyable afternoon/evening drive, which includes your evening meal in their rustic lapa.

Visit the Crocodile Ranch at Addo, 20 minutes away, where you can have a close encounter with lion and Bengal tigers.

Visit the ?Look-out?, a viewpoint 10 minutes away, taking in a panoramic view of the Sundays River , natural bushveld and farmlands. The ?Look-out? is a memorial to Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, a Valley pioneer responsible for encouraging many British settlers to take up farming here.

Noel will take you on an interesting tour of the citrus orchards and introduce you to his herd of beef cattle.Take a gentle stroll, brisk walk or early morning jog through the citrus orchards.Depending on the season, pick a juicy orange to enjoy along the way.

Go bird-watching, 10 minutes away, on our bushveld farm, where you will see birds not commonly found in our garden and may be lucky enough to see a small Common Duiker or shy Cape Grysbok.A fishing trip can be arranged to one of the local dams.
