Red Mountain House is situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Clarens.
Built in a neo-Colonial style, the Red Mountain House complex was opened in June 2003. Conveniently situated on the village square and within strolling distance of restaurants, galleries, gift shops and eateries, Red Mountain House is the ideal accommodation choice for discerning visitors.

Accommodation is on the first floor of the complex and each room adjoins a balcony, the ideal place to sit and admire the views of the surrounding mountains or village life on Market Square while enjoying a sundowner.

Our accommodation consists of 6 luxury double rooms furnished with turn of the century antiques, four-poster beds, fine percale linen and Persian carpets. Each room has a sitting area with an open fireplace and comfortable Morris chairs, where complimentary drinks and chocolates await your arrival.

Fully tiled bathrooms are en-suite with a shower, bath and wall heater. For your comfort, under tile heating takes the chill from cold winter nights while ceiling fans cool those balmy summer evenings.

Alternatively, our luxury self-catering penthouse, decorated with a subtle ethnic touch, offers flexible option for 2 to 6 guests.

A choice of either one or two en-suite bedrooms and a Futon sleeper couch. A well-appointed kitchen and lounge/diner with fireplace, two private balconies, one adjoining the second bedroom, the other a wonderful extension of the lounge area.

Enjoy a barbeque on the private balcony while absorbing the breath taking panoramic views of the Eastern Highlands and Lesotho. Under-tile heating and ceiling fans completes this stylish and unforgettable experience.
