Description:
Silver Hill Lodge is on a 300ha estate situated in the beautiful Kamberg Valley of the Central Drakensberg. It is a mere 35 minutes from Nottingham Road and Mooi River.

The Silver Hill Lodge consists of 7 B&B luxury en-suite rooms (Mountain Lodge) and 2 self-catering units (Mountain Chalet and Mountain Retreat). There is WiFi internet access from all the rooms in the Lodge

Mountain Lodge: These rooms sleep 4 persons in a double bed and 2 single beds. Each room has a TV connected to 9 channels of DSTv, tea and coffee tray and for chilly winter evenings, there in under-floor heating. A full English breakfast is included in the tariff.

Guests may relax in the Bar Lounge or Sun Lounge and meals are provided in a large dining room where there will be a roaring fire on cold nights.

The Lodge employs a qualified chef and he produces mouth watering meals to satisfy any palate. As well as breakfast (included in the tariff) the chef can provide light lunches and a 3 course meal in the evening.

Mountain Chalet: This unit sleeps 7 persons in 2 double beds and 3 single beds.Bed linen and bath towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped including microwave, stove and fridge. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, with a balcony, overlooks the estates own mountain and dams. A TV with 9 channels of DSTV is provided in the lounge.

There is also an outdoor Braai/B.B.Q. area.

Mountain Retreat: This unit sleeps 6 person in a spacious open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, large windows and balcony with built in Braai/B.B.Q. area, overlooking the estates own mountain and dams.

The bathroom, with its large low level window, affords one the opportunity to relax and taken in the beauty of the berg.

Bed linen and bath towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped including microwave, stove and fridge.

The Little Berg mountain range with Mount Cleopatra and Mount Erskin on either side provide the awesome backdrops.

There are many activities to keep the energetic going and for the more relaxed to simply sit and absorb the surroundings is awe-inspiring.

Enjoy trout fishing in our dams or hike up thye slopes of Mt Erskine. Small waterfalls cascade in the higher grounds of the mountain slopes and little springs pop up in unexpected places. There are five dams on the estate and guests may enjoy boating as well as fishing on the 2 dams closest to the Lodge.

Apart from hiking on the extensive estate, there are many other activities including:

Boul
Table Tennis
Pool
and for the kids there is a large pool, trampoline and jungle gym next to the Lodge.

Have a picnic or sundowners on the banks of the river, around a wood fire. Enjoy the sounds of the river gushing over the rocks into rock pools. In summer this is a fun spot for a quick dip to cool off or swim.

A hike up the mountain will lead you to breath taking views of the Kamberg Valley. Along the way there are numerous types of Flora and Fauna, animal life, buck and Eland to look out for. Also resident in the higher lying regions of the mountains are the Mountain Baboon.
