This secluded self-catering cottage is situated high up against the Langeberg mountain foothills in the Bonnievale district.
Vensterbank is located 4 km from Bonnievale on tar road to Swellendam.
A spectacular view of the Breede River Valley lead to the naming of this retreat. A room with a view would be the most appropriate translation of the Afrikaans name meaning "windowsill". Boesmansdrift, the host farm, produces wine grapes for Bonnievale Cellar, as well as fruit for canning and export.
Features: 6 Beds, bedding supplied. No electricity, A solar light system and a gas freezer, cooking top and geyser does the job. Bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Indoor fireplace; Outdoor braai area, firewood supplied.
To do: The cottage is situated on a 300 Ha undeveloped part of the farm. Ample walking opportunities, swimming or bass angling in a nearby dam and bird watching will supply the necessary exercise. Of course, you could also do nothing at all and enjoy the beautiful views in absolute peace and quiet.
If you get as far as starting up your car, you could of course do a wine tour, visit various places of interest in the vicinity or even see the sea - the foot of Africa is only an hour away.
